the transmission in my 71 ls5 is said to be an m21. it has a 9 bolt side cover with an alluminum case and fill and drain holes. the numbers stamped on the drivers side running vertically are DNE83 A2036B the casting number is 1304065903 all of the numbers listed above do not make any sense to me from the books that i have on numbers. tell me what i have

What you have is a super T-10 produced By Doug Nash Engineering circa 1983. (DNE) Nash bought the T-10 design from Borg Warner and continued development for some time. It was the base for the 4+3 found in early C-4 Corvettes. -
