    67 pb calipers

With the J50 option what is the correct #'s on the caliper, and are there any other casting marks or logo's on them?

    Re: 67 pb calipers

    Keith----

Calipers CASTING NUMBERS were generally the same for any given year regardless of which brake option was installed, standard, J-50, or J-56. However, for 1967 2 different sets of caliper casting numbers may have been used. Very early 1967's MAY have used the 65-66 style calipers. These calipers have the casting numbers front---5465952, 5465954 and rear---5465902, 5465905. The same caliper castings are used for different positions, but are machined differently and carry different PART NUMBERS which appear nowhere on the caliper.

Most, if not all, 1967s used the 2nd design calipers. These used caliper castings, front----5452273, 5452270 and rear----5452284, 5452281.

The calipers also have a sequence of 3 digits which MAY be a date coding. However, since these numbers, IF they are a date code, include no reference as to year and are just the consecutive day of the year (if even that), they really have little meaning. There is no other coding as to year anywhere on the calipers. Other casting marks often present on the above-referenced caliper castings are a "D" (for the old Danville, IL GM foundry where they were cast) and a "wagon wheel" symbol for the old Central Foundry Division.

There is also the the prominent words "Delco Moraine" and the Delco "Eye" symbol.
