NCM FOUNDER AND RETIRED PLANT EMPLOYEE PASSES

Darrel Bowlin, the first NCM Executive Director and one of the Museum's founders passed away yesterday. When the Museum was in the very early stages of ideas and planning, it was Darrel as an employee of the Corvette Plant that the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Corvette Museum Task Force worked with the Dan Gale and the NCRS. He spent many, many hours and days in making sure the idea for a Corvette Museum became a reality.

Gary, I'm very sorry to here about Darrel. Do you know Jane Bowlin's address or e-mail, my wife and I would like to send her a note. Darrel and I were on the NCM board for many years and we enjoyed their company, although we have not seen them in years. You are correct, Darrel was a driving force with Dan Gale and the NCM would probably not be if it weren't for those two.

darrel was a real gentleman who had a significant impact on the formation of the NCM. a very nice man who i respected and admired.hope he's shooting the bull with zora as we speak. mike
