Can someone please help me to identify a water pump I'm looking at. It's part number 782608 dated L 15 7. Thanks for the help.

That's an easy one. The GM casting #3782608 was used on many Chevrolet small blocks between the years of 1961-1970. For Corvettes, its first use was 1963, althgough it may have been used earlier, too. For the most part and as far as Corvettes go, it was used on all 1963-67 Corvette small blocks EXCEPT those with aluminum intake manifolds. For 68-70, it was the only waterpump casting used for PRODUCTION Corvette small block engines.
This pump has the "small" bearing size and uses a 5/8" shaft. It has no provisions on the top of the casting for external by-pass and uses internal bypass provisions only. For the 1969-70 model years, it was used ONLY for Corvette small blocks.In Appreciation of John HinckleyComment
