After securing the body to the frame, I remounted the doors. Releasing the lock bolt housing from the striker plate was a bit of an effort on the left door; more smooth on the right door. I decided to wait to make final adjustments after I did some body work. I removed the tires and placed the body on jack stands. The doors were "half-way" in the striker plate. I inadvertenly bumped the left door shut and it would not release. I hoped that when I put the tires back on it and relieved the unbalanced stress it would release; it does not. In trying to solve the problem, I examined the right lock bolt housing and noticed the mechanism at the bottom can be rotated with your finger; which I did. I closed it half-way in the stiker plate and now this door does not release either. The "door gods" are not smiling down upon me. Any suggestions for releasing both door mechanisms?

Re: C1 Mounting Doors
I did manage to disengage the right door by loosening the bolts securing the door to the hinge and gaining some flexibility. The screws that attacj the locking mechanism to the door are outside the door and are inaccessible when the door is closed. I believe I will just have to try and reposition the left door in various positions with the hinge bolts loose and jockey it about until it releases. Thanks for your reply.- Top
