mid year hood help

I recently acquired a 67 coupe. the hood will not stay shut, if car goes over bump, door slams etc, I am not near a good corvette repair shop. where can I get proper procedure to adjust springs, cable, posts, etc?

Hey Dave -

It would be a good idea to invest in a Service Manual for your car. Try taking a big flat blade screwdriver and turning the spring posts on the underside of the hood. They will lengthen or shorten depending on which way you turn them. There is a slot on the point that the screwdriver fits into. Good luck.

There was also a recent recent post here about this problem. I believe it mentioned that if the spring latch is compressed, to tight, that this would permit the hood to unlatch. So try backing off on the adjustment a couple of turns and see if this helps.
