Was the wiper motor firewall mounting plate painted black (during the black out process) and the wiper motor installed unpainted? Also I noticed that the co-ordinator was missing a screw, I understand this is correct?

The mount was raw alum. motor also, and yes one srew hole din't have a srew was for later vett 58 up -

My experience is that the plate was on the car when the black-out process was done--the wiper motor was mounted later on so it should be metal finishes. Yes, there should be one screw missing on the coordinator.Comment

I agree with Mike and Dennis. Just had my whole wiper system rebuilt for my '58 and I was told by the restorer that the plate should be painted black and the motor is unpainted.Comment
