    66 427/390 vs 427/425

On the 942 427/425 hp block there appears to be a provision for either a remote oil cooler or filter. The 390 hp block does not have the threaded boss and plug. What is the configuration of the 390 hp block in that area. Is there a plug of some kind or isnt the boss even drilled.

    thanks

    John-----

I beleive that the 390 hp block castings were not drilled and tapped for oil cooler provisions.

Thats what I have observed, I believe the rest of the block is the same, with exception of the main cap drilling in the webs. The same casting was used for both the 390 and 425 engines...Craig
