There is something very Zen about Corvette restoration. No one can undertake a restoration and not be humbled. Anyway, I am in the process of trying to repair the horns on my 65. I have separated the halves and have new metal diaphrams. I tested for continuity through the "points" and found no continuity. I cleaned the contact points with 300 grit wet and dry paper, and still no continuity. I can put the probes on one pad of the point and the other probe on the other pad and there is NO CONTINUITY!!!! It appears that there is an open circuit right at the points interface?? How can this be? It's just two pieces of metal touching each other. Is this whats called points burning out? I don't get it. Am I testing this incorrectly or what. Is there a fix for this problem? I will now go away and contemplate my navel while awaiting sage advice. Jerry
