frame numbers

Can any-one explain where to find the frame numbers for my 67' small block
vette? Are they on the frame towards the body or on the frame towards the ground? Are they by the door pillar, drivers or passenger side?

August - if you mean the frame numbers applied by A.O. Smith during mfg, (the stencils) they are on the passenger side, upside down, on the outboard side of the frame below the passenger door area. If you are talking about the VIN stampings for your car, one is above the rear drivers side wheel on the top of the frame, and requires a mirror to see plus some scraping. Another is usually on the midsection of the frame below the sill area, and requires removal of the body to see...Craig
