Old Carpet Glue Removal Without Brain Damage

I need to remove the old excess carpet glue in my 67 roadster interior. What is the best product/process to use that will save the most of my diminished brain cells? I need to keep as many as possible now.

    Thanks,
    Jace Holt

I usually leave it. It gives the next layer of adhesive something to stick to, as it is more likely to adhere to old glue than to bare, clean fiberglass.

      Just my thoughts.

ok to retain glue but i'd definitly remove any patches of rug material/jute etc that wouldn't bond to new rugs. wire brush or putty knife off old carpet debris. mike

YoU sAy "bBraIN dAMAgE" liKe iT"s a bAD ThiNG!!

Never tried it, but good ole chemical paint stripper may do the trick.

Definitly would be careful with a mechanical removal tool or roto brush. Lotsa curves in a floor and would be easy to hog right through the fiberglass if you aren't watching all points of contact.

            lotsa luck,
            tc
