I recently bought a 1963 split window and wanted to replace the cracked glove box door cover. The "old" cover was stabilzed with the lock assembly, glue and washers on the bottom of the box frame which also attach the door to the frame. The new door has larger openings which don't accommodate the washers ( which I believe were not original anyway) What is the best way to attach the new plastic to the metal cover. Thanks

Re: 1963 corvette glove box
Mark,
Sounds like you have a "homemade" door. Someone may have tried to put a plastic 63 door over a metal 64 - 7 back plate.
On a 63 glovebox door, the face is all plastic and the back plate is pressmoulded fiberglass. Both are availible from most supply houses or you can buy the assembly already glued together.
I think the factory used the same bond adhesive used on body panels, but you could use any epoxy. Tint it black for factory appearance.
