The fan motor for the heater/air conditioner on my 65 coupe is making a bunch of racket. Can one change out the bearings, and if not, where can one buy a new fan motor? Also, the vent fan just behind the driver's left shoulder is also making noise. Same questions please. Thanks!

Re: 65 Heater/AC Fan Motor
Bob check with your local GM parts counter. I bought a new fan motor and a new blower for the same from GM. The fan motor came with the hole for the cool air from the air conditioner air to cool the motor. If GM does not service this part then check with Auto Zone, Advance Auto, or any other parts store locally.- Top

Re: 65 Heater/AC Fan Motor
Bob the fan motor is a pretty much sealed unit. When mine started making noise in my 70 I replaced it with one from GM, also bought a new blower for it later because the old one cracked at the mounting area and would spin on the shaft. If GM does not service this part any longer try Auto Zone, Advance Auto, or any local parts store. The GM replacement fan motor had the hole just like the original for the cooling tube to connect.- Top
