Did 66 big block cars have the spacer installed on the water pump pulley?

    Re: Water Pump Pulley Spacer

I have compiled what I believe to be a complete list from the AIM of all the pulleys and associated spacers used on 66's. As far as I can see, no water pump pulley spacers are called out in the AIM for 66 big block cars. However, a lot of detail on the subject of pulleys appears to be missing in the AIM, so someone else may have better information to offer.

never encountered any pully spacers. If the v-belts are in alignment, shouldn't need spacers but thats not to say a previous owner didn't see the need for a spacer if the flange pressed onto the h2o pump was misfitted. good luck, mike

Don't use spacers------Use a wheel puller to pull the pulley attachment flange forward until the pully lines up with the other pullies.

are you sure you are not refering to a pulley reinforcement plate that is used on some waterpump pulleys to prevent the pulleys from cracking where they bend around the pump hub.

Yes, that what I'm referring too. Did the big block cars have this reinforcement spacer installed?

Funny thing, I saw this yesterday in the current Paragon catalog (pg 94) lists part # 846 as "66 327/300HP spacer/reinforcent. Attached is paragons reply to my inquiry

"this part acts in two ways, one as a spacer to position the fan shroud in place and two as reinforcement to prevent center section of pulley from fracturing. Thank you for the inquiry, and have a good day.

                Sales Dept."

Is this a repro of original part? Couldn't find in the AIM.
