    Hardtop Headliner

Rebuilt the hardtop for my '57. Tough job as others have indicated. I was feeling pretty smug about my accomplishment, until the glued headliner unglued (after it was all together). I used spray on adhesive I bought from Al Knoch at Carlisle. What did I do wrong? Should I have used some other type of glue? If so, what? Why didn't Al tell me? It's tough to drive with the headliner resting on my head! Thanks.

You may want to try some of the old fashioned contact cement (yellow stuff) that you get at the hardware store. I have had some of the same type difficulty with the spray on stuff. There is more than one type of the spray adhesive, some of which are called "super XXX". Maybe the super is stickier than the general purpose.

At The Home Depot buy some 3M 900 spray contact. It has an adjustable spray and you won't be able to get it off even if you wanted to. $10.00 a can
      Good Luck
