A couple weeks ago, I posted a message indicating I was going to a local Corvette supply store. Well, I went today, and I think I came away with a minor treasure (to use the term loosely).
I found three (3) 5 bladed fans, p/n 3888366. They all had the "front" and "H" embossed, and the "66" which I didn't expect. The worst has verly little paint, and is mostly surface rust. The best one still has what I would call "texture" black paint. The latter has alot of runs on the blades as if it was painted and immediately run on an engine.
I was thinking of having them (or some of them) chemically dipped and powder coated. But I wasn't sure about this "texture". Does anyone know if this "texture" is original, and what are some recommendations for repainting the fans.
I also came away with two (2) pulleys. They are machined stock and resemble the gold iridite. They are definately not plated. They are about 2 1/2" diameter, 5/8" diameter center hole, 3/4" wide, with approx. a 3/32" raised portion on one side. I have no clue what they are for, but I don't think it is a 68 or 69 deep groove pulley. There is an eBay auction for an alternator with one attached. I can look up the auction number if anyone is interested.
