    Solid-Axle Steering Gear Lube

Can't find the post from a week or so ago on this subject, but I use the GM #1052182 lube that comes in a 10-oz. white plastic tube (available from Vette Products of Michigan, Lake Orion, MI, (248) 693-1907, ask for Neil Porter). This is not the specified lube - it is much higher viscosity/thicker consistency than the thinner specified lube and is less prone to leakage - it is, however, GM "Manual Steering Gear Lubricant".

I have also been told that you can use Constant Velosity Joint Lubricant.
