1970 Front Cross Over Brake Line

Hi Everyone. Well I just did next to the impossible and installed new brake and fuel lines on the 70 with the body on the car. It can be done but it was very, very difficult and stainless steel lines are very hard to get perfectly straight afther they are bent. Another deterrent is doing the replacement with the car on jack stands. I now must do a lot of touch-up work to the frame and under carriage back to beautiful that I spent so much time taping and painting.

One question that I thought I knew the answer to but I have seen contracdicting info in tech manuals, cataglogues, parts books, and the AIM. Does the front crossover brake line go under the upper A-Frame to each side or does it mount on the side of the frame facing the engine compartment. I hope it is the later because I will need to pull my upper A-Frames to get to the brake line mounting clip on the frame below the upper A-Frame.

    Thanks

    Lee

The front cross-over brake line mounts to the upper front edge of the forward main crossmember.

Thanks Joe but it also turns to follow the frame to the brake proportioning valve on the driver's side and turns to go to the brake hose. I probably did not make myself clear but my question is where it is routed when it turns on each side of the front cross member.

      Thanks

On each side the line goes over the top of the crossmember. On the right side it runs higher than on the left side, though. On the right side, it is just below the upper a-arm shaft. On the left side, it is several inches below the shaft.
