    1973 Power Window

The passenger side window goes down quietly and with good speed. Going up the window takes about 50% longer than going down and is very noisy almost sounds like the motor is straining. While I am repairing the door latch/ handle mechanism and realigning the window glass I thought I might check out the power window motor and see if I can do anything to improve it. Anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing the window motor to work differently in the up and down modes?

My guess would be a broken regulator spring or a worn gear. This is a fairly common problem with 68-82 power window regulators. These parts, which were NEVER available from GM as seperate parts, are available in the Corvette aftermarket.

if the spring is not broke check to make sure it is on right. you want the spring to push the window up. if thats not the problem replace the motor.
