I need some direction pertaining to how close the carb can be to the build of the car. My 66 427 was stamped 1129 on the pad and the car is a 10400 vin which I put close to a January 10, 1966 assembly. The car was licensed on January 26, 1966 on the west coast which in those days was a few miles from St Louis. It should have been delivered some time between those dates.
The car is very original but the carb was stolen in 1968 which it has a correct 3247 with service date of 68. In Nolands book there is an example of a 8600 vin car with a 5A3 holley date. This would be a short time frame.
My question is would a 5B3 be too close for my VIN?
