I am still trying to track down information on a 1966 corvette convertible I purchased from a widow lady in New Jersey. Her husband was an NCRS member named John Caravale. The car was in N J since new, I believe. I know it was in the Morristown and Verona areas in the 70's and 80's. It is red/red 427 with 390 hp and a powerglide trans. making it some what unusual. It was NCRS judged in Mystic(?) Ct. about 15 years ago. It was painted at Lincoln body shop around '85. I sure could use the help if any one remembers this car. Thanks.

Bill- Re: Help from New Jersey members - 2nd post
Bill, Thanks. Hey that's a start! If you or any of your friends think of any piece of historical info regarding this please let me know. I am trying to trace back between 1966 and 1978 for previous owners or any thing that would relate. Like most corvette fanatics I want to know as much as possible about the car and former owners. Do you know if Mystic was a chapter or regional meet? Thanks- Top

Re: Bill- Re: Help from New Jersey members - 2nd p
Jerry,
------Im fairly sure that the meet at Mystic that year was a regional.I do remember that Zora was there as he pinched the butt of a friends wife, and we got a heck of a laugh out of that.Im sure Zora was there at Danny Gales behest as they were fast friends! Its too bad we cant ask Danny.I miss him quite a bit.He was quite a character and a great guy!
------I also remember that the story you tell about the owner passing had just happened (I think).Maybe within that past year.It seems to me that a family friend had finished up the car as a sort of tribute to him.I paid a bit of attention to this car as I remembered seeing its twin in Ft.Lauderdale during spring break in 1966 with two beautiful blondes in it!!!!!!!When I saw the car at Mystic I thought "how many of these can there be?".Im still of the opinion that they were the same car.Red/red,390/auto,convert?A very rare car!Over the years I have often wished that I tried a little harder to make those blondes aquaintance. As it was,I pulled up next to them at a light on A1A and passed them several times going the other way during that particular day.I will say that the car I saw was registered in Florida. Is there any history you know of that puts the car in Fla.?Hope this helps..........Bill S- Top

Re: Bill- Re: Help from New Jersey members - 2nd p
Bill, All this info is great, to me anyway. I know you are correct because the car was judged after the guy passed away as someone did get it ready for his widow to take. I did not know for sure if the car was ever in Florida but some of the paper work has Star chevrolet in East Orange, NJ as if it was sold new there. Your story about the spring break is why I want to do a total restoration on the car, so the two blondes can go right back in it (haven't found them yet but but I'm searching haha). Thanks again.- Top
