    Inst. Cluster for '66-Non a/c

The facade is dull, needing paint as well as: where's a good place to buy a new ammeter? Order and technique would be very helpfull when I take this apart. Should I label with tape all wire ends when I take them out? I do have a tele. wheel. What shade of black do I need for the "u" shaped bracket next to the dash/over the steering wheel? The more advise, the better! Thanks, all.

Why buy a new ammeter? It's actually cheaper to send the original you have out for restoration to one of the many instrument service folks who advertize in Driveline. Even if yours is 'smoked' they can repair and cosmetically refurbish it.

As for interior paint, visit PPG's website (www.autocolorlibray.com). In addition to exterior paint formulations, the site lists interior formulas repleat with specific gloss factor for the major interior components. With this info (blend code and gloss factor) a pro painter can hit it on the money vs. being 'close'....

Good info Jack on the PPG website.
I am having difficulty on the semi flat black for underhood on my 66. I used Krylon semi flat black but others, supposedly correct, seem to have more gloss.

John Deere Blitz Black has slightly more sheen, and is considered by many to be just right for this. You can get it at your local JD dealer, or he can order it. It comes in spray cans and bulk I believe...Craig
