    NCRS judging

On a C2 why is the transmion numbers and the rear axle numbers not judged.
I always recomend to somebody new to our hobby looking to purchase a car to look for recent NCRS judging and the judging sheets to authenticate a car and its quaility.Thinking who's better to tell what a car is then the guys most familuar with them? Does anybody know the reason behind not judging these areas?

    Thanks Larry Savino

I think that the reason is that these numbers are difficult to see on the judging field without jacking up the car (which is usually not done).

Joe is right - actually it is usually a waist size issue.

        Dennis-----

I believe that all chassis numbers and markings, including rear end and transmission stampings, are heavily scrutinized in "monster truck" judging circles. For "monster trucks" these stampings are critically important to vehicle originality and scoring. For Corvettes, though, these stampings and numbers are far less important. I'm sure that the configuration of Corvettes and the "waist size of members of the Corvette judging organizations" plays a major role in setting priorities.

            A few more words....

There are two generic classes of judging at NCRS. One class (Flight) examines restored Corvettes. Another class (Star/Bowtie) examines unrestored Corvettes. The numbers you mention ARE reviewed and judged during examination of unrestored Corvettes at NCRS and a lift is used to raise the vehicle so the entire undercarriage is easy to view....

Larry... Please do not underestimate our mission. On day to day flight judging, the judges may only attempt to assertain if the trans appears to be pretty close to original. During NCRS Bowtie Judging, its a whole different story.

                Thanks Again fellows

it just recentley sunk into my head after reading my 66 judgeing manual for the 100th time that these two items were looked at but not judged,So it was alittle bit of a suprise, that a car that has a top flight gould actually have non original trans or rear end and still score a top flight,I just alwats assumed top flight ment the best of the best of a restored car.(I am not saying that car with a non original rear is not the best of the best)But I think you get the idea
