Vacuum advance tube on 71 350 270 auto

The vacuum advnace line from the distributer to the carb. For 1971 350 270hp automatic. Was there a metal piece with a hose on either end or just a 1 piece rubber hose. This is a late model 71 (April)

There was a steel line used for the vacuum advance tube which was connected on either end by rubber tubing.

In addition, the metal tube is not currently available in reproduction. There is a good diagram in Dr. Rebuild's catalog of the tube and the rubber fittings, but DESPITE showing that the tube is available, you will get another tube that you need to modify and/or bend to fit.

You car isn't too late. Jack H's 71 is also from April, mine from mid June.

Can you give me specs on the tube (dia, length etc) so I can try to fin one.
