I have seen many posts about Kingpin replacement in the C1 Vett. Shortly after purchasing my 57 back in 1983, I was rebuilding the front suspension. I had the same problem in getting old kingpins out. I could not find a big enough hammer to drive them out. A friend suggested using an air hammer. I borrowed the compressor and air hammer and tool, soaked the kingpin assy overnight using liquid wrench and the pin drove out in a few minutes with the air hammer.
You can get the tool under the fender well and behind the spindle easily. Be sure to remove lock rings, etc. Thought I would mention this as it worked for me.
