Many years ago I obtained a set of used door panels and a set of vinyl "skins" for the same. The "skins" are the plastic covering for the door panels. Does anyone know who could install these over the used door panels? Is such a product still available? Has anyone ever tried vinyl repair?

Yes, a few catalogs still list 'door skins'.... My experience is most report POOR results. If you don't get the glue on uniformly, the skins tend to wrinkle and/or 'bubble'. Plus, aligning the skin on the existing panel before the underlying glue takes set is a real hassle. Most simply bite the bullet and purchase fully assembled, ready to mount, reproduction door panels.... -

I have repro door panels but I am disapointed with the quality. They are too firm and too thick. I was looking for a better option.Comment
