C1 Upper Control Arm Outer Pivot Pin Seals

Does anyone know where to find the correct shape/material seals for the upper control arm outer pivot pin seals? This is the pin that has the caster/camber adjustment function. The seals I received with the suspension rebuild kit have a square profile, unlike the flat (tubing-like) seals that were on the car and depicted in the ST-12 (pg 3-12). Some replacements are simple O-rings that don't even work well. Any help would be appreciated.

Thsese seals ore hard to come by. I pick them up at Non-corvette flea markets in NORS bushing kits for 49 to 54 chevy pass cars, which served as the donor front suspensions for our C-1 vets( ie they are the same front suspensions except for the 3rd arm)Good luck, mike

I gave up looking for some! My 60 still has all the original suspension peices under it with the exception of the kingpins, but the seals were unusable. I looked for quite some time for some originals that were usable and finally just gave up. I put the square ones in, and have never taken a single point hit on theem in flight judging.

Follow-Up Question Re: Pivot Pin Seals

I had suspected that these seals would be difficult to find. I had done some searching three years ago when I rebuilt the front suspension. If I can't buy them, I'll make them. Does anyone know the dimensions of the originals? I.D., O.D., & length of the sleeve?

Steel Rubber Products, (800) 544-8665, lists what you may be looking for."Seal, upper and lower control arm cross shaft bushing at inner end of arm." They list as fitting '53-'62 Corvette upper and lower, part # 60-0094-32. They give two dimesions, OD of 1" and thickness of 5/16". Regards,
