Good Morning All,
Finally getting aroung to assembling my 67 427/435 and when preparing to hang my new .040 KB Silv-O-Lite pistons my machinist noticed that 7 of the 8 connecting rods had what he refered to as "oil squiters" located in the caps. He rcognized that not only had these rods been reconditioned but also 5 are of the dimple style and 3 are not, concluding that someone had previuosly been in this motor. Nothwithstanding, with the exception of this oil squiter issue all 8 rods spec's were within recommended tolerances. He decided not to proceed until we determined if it were necessary that I replace the odd rod. BTW the reason for the rebuild was not an oiling issue, in fact he felt that all the bearings and cam looked pretty good. I'd like to get this thing assembled so any information you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary
