I have a 57 clutch & brake pedal support, that mount's under the dash with 58 style pedal pad's. Did any late 57's have the 58-62 ( larger) pedal pad's? A friend of mine said he also had a unit that was the same way. Thank's for any help. john

Re: 57 brake and clutch pedal & support
John,
I have not heard of this (which means little). However if your '57 was produced within the last month of production it could be believable. Does the bracket or pedal arms look like it/they had/have been replaced? I installed the (later years) fast clutch option on my '56 and had to trim down the pedal metal backing in order to fit the '56 rubber pedal. Regards,- Top

Re: 57 brake and clutch pedal & support
seems to me the frame assemblyfor the clutch/brake pedal assembly for the 58 to 62 vets differ from the 55-57 frames in that the 55-57 are longer overall than the 58 to 62. If the pedal assembly fits between firewall and dash in you 57, then I'd suspect someone welded the larger 58 up style pedals to your 57 clutch and brake arms. If the assembly you have is too short to fasten to the firewall and the dash, you probably have a 58 to 62 pedal assembly. as was mentioned earlier, the 55 to 57 chevy pass cars would donate the smaller pads that you could weld back on the clutch and brake arms. good luck mike- Top
