    64 coupe body mounts

Have finally put the body back on the chassisws! Now the fun part. The car seems to sit pretty level now. When I opened the kit for the new mounts, there were several shims for each area. When I removed the body, I can only remember the orginal shims that were required. In the AIM and in Nolan Adams' Vol 2, the pictures show approx. 4 more shims (U-shaped) Do these shims have to be installed? I saved all of the old ones when I started the rebuild and tagged each, there are no U-shaped shims in any of the body mounts. The radiator mounts, yes. Does anybody have any helpful hints, tricks, etc. to help me get this part of the project started? I will start to research the archives now.
    Thanks!

Bob, now if you are referring to body mount #1, I think the U shaped shims are between the top of the cage and body, my 65 doesn't have any shims here either. On some cars they must have been for proper body alignment with the cage. If you did have any here they would have stayed with the body when you lifted it. Thats how I see it anyway. I am about to put the body back on my 65 so if anybody else has any other information, I'd like to hear it too.

You are correct Mike. The U shaped shims would have come off with the body. The only other U shaped ones are at the radiator support.
