    '70-'73 Exhaust bezels

I would like to start by thanking everyone that dedicates their time helping green horns like me.I don't like to buy anything repro. if I don't have to,but N.O.S. parts can be hard to find.Does anyone make exhaust bezels that actually fit?I've allready ordered, and returned one set that were an amazingly poor attempt at a reproduction. Thanks agaian,Barney

All repro's are thin stainless steel. Originals were thicker chromed steel with weld beads around the back and down the bottom. Find at Bloomington swap meet or in the Driveline. You have to work to get the proper fit because the original tail pipes had a connection "key" as part of the pipe that the cutout on the bezel fit into. The 70-72 bezels are different than the 73's. The 73's 2" pipe connection is angled. Original bezels have no markings, replacement bezels sold by GM have a part number across the back. Good originals sell for $70-$100 each.

          Bob-----

Country-singer Kenny Rogers reports that his mother used to say that "...the only cure for getting old is dying young...". She was exactly correct, too. No doubt about it, at all. So, there ABSOLUTELY IS an alternative to getting old! Any takers?

Yes and sometimes you forget to turn your key switch off all the way and your battrey is dead the next day, so you friends have to give you a jump in the parking lot at the hotel.
