    C2: 63 Transmission question

I just got a really good deal on a 67 2SPD powerglide (the parts alone were worth it). Someone told me that this can be adapted for a 63, but that the 63 has some unique tail shaft/housing parts. I understand therefore that I need some parts to do this fix. As the one in my veh is not the original and neither is the block, I would like to eventually return these to original. The 67 will allow me to purchase the engine and have a working system until I can find an orginal replacement for the powerglide. Can someone tell me what parts I should be looking for to make the 67 fit the 63 and where (if possible) I can find info on doing this job?

    Thanks

I believe the difference is that the tailhousing for the '63 has mounting bosses for the shifter, where the '67 system bolts to a bracket attached to the Frame crossmember. There also is a difference in the Output shafts as the '63-64 PG uses the coarse spline configuration and the '65 up PG uses the same spline configuration as the muncie four speeds of the '64-67 era.
