    70 headlight switch removal

How do you get the knob and shaft off the switch so that the dash pad can be removed? Is there a release or something which allows the shaft and knob to pull outtowards the interior and lets the switch body go towards the firewall. Yeah I've checked the archives.

There's a release on the back of the switch that lets you pull it out. I think it takes about 2.5 Acts of God to get at it, but it "can" be done.

    Best of luck.

Jeff, both Partick and Geoffrey have given you correct information. But looking at your question, you pose the question to remove the switch from the dash so the dash pad can be removed. Actually, if you just remove the wire harness at the switch the dash pad and switch can be removed together.

Like Patrick mentioned after depressing the button pulling the knob out may take a few tries.

What,if I may ask are you trying to repair or replace?
