Does anyone have info regarding clear glass wind deflectors for C-1's, primarily on a '61-'62. I've seen pictures of them, mounted on each door post. Were they dealer installed? Would like to mount them on my '62.

Re: C-1 Wind deflectors on door post
They were an aftermarket accessory invention, for many different models without a vent window, not only Corvettes. But they were not produced by the General for Corvettes. I suppose some were installed by Chevy dealers just like other accessories. If you look in the back of an old Car and Driver, Sports Car Graphic or Road and Track magazine of that vintage you will see the advertisements for these items.

Don - If you find a set, I'd be happy to trade you a very nice set of window posts already drilled for your set of undrilled posts. It's just the never ending quest to help out another member. Best, Dennis- Top

Re: C-1 Wind deflectors on door post
As the Doc says, these were very popular sporty car items in the 50s and 60s. Veddy British. Somebody must still make them. Look for a place that sells string backed driving gloves, tonneau covers, wooden rimmed steering wheels, driving lights, etc.. Try an old British car aftermarket place.- Top
