    68 Corvette Carburetor

    I am rebuilding the carburetor.
Can people recommend what the best solvent to use
for cleaning and soaking the parts.
    Carburetor cleaner, Kerosene, Gasoline,...?

    Carburetor is old and dirty.
Corvette has been sitting for many years.

    Thanks

carb cleaner is the only thing that will do a good job, about $80 for a 5 gallon pail with a dipping basket. i like berrymans and the bigger auto parts should stock it.

About $30 for a 2 gallon pail at the local auto store. The Berryman's works great. Smells horrible, though. My wife hates it when I use it because it smells like formaldehyde.
