C2 loose rear view mirror

The ball on the back of my mirror is loose. While driving the mirror moves out of adjustment. The mirror is in great shape and has correct dated glass. Any suggestions on how to tighten it up. If not any way to remove glass and install on a new mirror back. Thanks Bill

i've had luck with repeat as needed valve lapping compound applied to the ball and joint surfaces.Paragon has pretty good repo for the 64 to 66 style inside rear view mirror.this little trick also works for outside mirror. good luck mike

A quick fix I have used is to work a drop of blue Loctite onto the ball. It doesn't show and allows adjustment of the mirror as required
