Two years ago Patrick Tighe posted his technique for installing the fuel line on a midyear with the body on the frame. He cut the preformed steel line in three parts, then joined them with rubber fuel line and clamps. If I understand the post correctly, his first cut was inside the frame, just above the trailing arm bolt.
My question for Patrick (and others) regards the second cut, which was made eight inches forward of the rear edge of the door between the crossmembers. Would it be possible to instead make the second cut several feet forward of this point, near the front clamp where the frame curves inward? There appears to be a little more room between the body and frame here for attaching the hose and clamps.
Thanks to all for your advice on this job.
