Re: C1 air condition
roy. years ago, about l970, i installed a complete dealer installed 64 chevy II C-60 unit in my 57 250hp pg vet. its required two holes in the firewall that i'll have to repair once i get aroung to resurecting the fi vet.I also had a L-88 and tires so wide that it flung W.VA. mud over the entire car when i used to go to work. as i recall, the evaporator/fan assembly was a hang-on unit on the dash in the chevy II and i hung it the same way in the 57. lots of sore knuckles when power shifting the Hurst. the condensor was bracketed to the core support and the comprtessor was mounted on the 427 with pass. car brackets. The c-60 worked super in the little vet cockpit--it would chill even the cheapest brewskis in a heartbeat. good luck with you project. mike- Top

Re: C1 air condition
Roy, I have been looking into this for a year and talked to Classic Air in Tampa and an owner of a system in a 58 at the Orlando NCRS Regional meet. As it turns out, he got his from Chris Petris at the Corvette Clinic in Sanford, Florida. As you may know, Chris does technical restoration articles for Corvette Fever. I met Chris at the Orlando Swap meet and asked about an installation on my 1962. He estimated about $1400 and his system appears to be better than Classic Air @ $2000 installed, at least that is the opinion of an owner who has one. Worth checking into. Chuck LymanChuck Lyman
