    C2- battery replacement dilemma

I recently replaced my battery with a new R59 Vintage Delco. When I go to hook up the battery cables to the posts there is a spark on contact. Not a "short like spark" but a small spark. Would this be a normal condition?, or have I got battery/vehicle problems? Is there a proper way to re-connect the cables? Is there anything I should have disconnected to protect the T.I. system? Thank you in advance for your help.

Clock would do it. Try touch once, then touch again - see what happens. Do C2's have a clock rewind solinoid...? Lost in the late 50's/early 60's.

It's quite normal for there to be a very small spark when the second battery cable is connected. Usually, this will be exacerbated by any current draw occuring when the connection is made (e.g. courtesy lights, elctric clock, etc.). However, I think that even without ANY current draw, there will be a small spark.

Usually, it is recommended that the positive cable be connected first and the negative last. For the most part, I think that this is for safety reasons. I always do it that way, though.

If you have the ignition switch in the "off" position, I think you will eliminate the chance for any damage to occur to the TI amplifier.
