The center ORNAMENT of the PO1 wheel covers was seperately replaceable. However, I don't think that the emblem, by itself, was or is replacable. The center ornament was once available seperately under GM #3923631, but it's been discontinued for quite a few years.

I don't know who restores these covers. However, it would seem to me that to restore one would require a great many man-hours. That, of course, translates into high cost. You might be better off looking for an NOS or mint used set.

Ed, yes you can get the black plastic center emblem at Corvette Central, and many ther Vette part dealers. The po-1s come appart into three main pieces. The outer rim is the most important(its the part that gets all the abuse) If you can find 4 good outer rims, then you can restore them. A little polish, black paint, and new center emblems, can make an old set look great. The only hard part is drilling out the rivits for the center emblems. after drilling out, you can replace the old rivits with small metal screws.

Thanks for the advice, I figured it would be both labor intensive and expensive. Any ideas were I could find a full set, or is it a search and discover issue. Thanks again...

Sets come up on eBay from time-to-time. I've even seen NOS sets on several occasions. Beware of the 70s Monte Carlo covers, though. They're very similar except for the emblem configuration.

          If they're NOS and they're of GM #3923630, they're what you're after.

Do a search for Sal Carbone, on this board, he usually has a set or two PO1s or PO2s. NOS sets are VERY expensive, up to $1500 or more.Good used sets go for $200-$500. You can use 1970 Buick Reviera hubcaps. They are exactly the same except for the plastic emblems. I found a beautiful set at a local junkyard.

What is the difference between PO1 and PO2 optional wheel covers?
