    restoring '65 aluminum valve covers/intake

    Hi guy's,
Glad to be posting my first topic. I'm currently restoring the 327/365 engine in the '65. I'm curious to find out how to attain the correct finish of the aluminum valave covers and manifold. Would bead blasting do the trick? If so which medium would work best. Finally, When the surface has been restored how does one keep them looking like new? Thanks for your time and assistance. Glen

Glen-bead blasting will not give the correct finish you need for restoring these covers. I believe some folks have used Naval Jelly to clean and restore, but the best approach is to send them to someone like Jerry McNeish or Don Dorfman who will correctly restore the covers to NCRS standards...Craig
