I thought I read that the 15" X 6" 5-slotted rim was made only for the 67s and a very few other models in 67-68.Today a Mgr. at a small used Corvette shop told me Chevy used that rim on alot of Vettes since. He showed me one that looked right with a worn tire on it. It was a 15" but I don't know if it was 6". What scared me was that he said he would sell the tire and rim fo $35.I just need it for a spare and I do not need the correct stamp.Could this be a fit and a good price?

Re: 67 Rim
Rally Wheels were base equipment from '67 to '82, but ONLY the '67 versions are six inches wide. In '68 the width increased to 7", and this, too, was a one-year wheel because the width increased to 8" in '69 and remained at that width through '82.
I'm not an expert on identifying the markings on Rally wheels, but someone can probably post the identifying data. Also, even with a tire on the wheel you should be able to determine the flange to flange inside width enough to distinguish between the 6, 7, and 8" versions.
Measuring offset can also give a clue. With a mounted tire place the assembly on a flat surface, outside face down and lay a straight edge across the tire sidewall. Measure the total width between the surface and straight edge and call this dimension "a". Now measure between the straight edge and wheel mounting plane and call this "b".
Offset = b - (a/2), and this will yield the correct algebraic sign.
The offset dimension for '67 6" Corvette Rally wheels is plus .060", minus 0.28" for seven inch Corvette Rally Wheels, and minus 0.50" for 8" versions. Some 6 or 7 inch Rally wheels may have different offsets, in which case they were used on models other than Corvette or are aftermarket. I believe only Corvettes were equipped with 8" Rally wheels, so all original GM versions would have the Corvette offset dimension.
