    cosmetic restoration of fan clutch

I've got the fan clutch removed from my '69 and would like to clean it and restore its appearance. I cleaned all the road grime off it and would like to know what else I can do to restore and maintain its appearance. I don't want to impair the function of the clutch by painting or coating the body housing improperly.

    Any advice much appreciated.

Shannon - if it is original, you may want to consider sending it to Fred Olivia for a complete restoration, cosmetic and functional. As far as coatings the clutch should be natural aluminum with no paint or clearcoat.

        Now read it in english...

Copy the heading RESTAURACION: EL CONJUNTO BOMBA DE AGUA, PALETA Y EMBRAGUE and use Google (or other) to search for the article. The click on [Translate this page] and ta-da! English version!

Good points. Stilted English but still readable. Kind of like the English used by all of those Nigerians trying to enlist my help to smuggle out their millions of dollars.

Use Eagle "etching formula" wheel cleaner, being careful not to let it drip into any sealed areas. It works great to remove "junk" and leave the original aluminum finish.
