I would like to know if my 54 vette valve cover is supposed to have a baffle in it. I understand the purpose of the baffle is to prevent oil and smoke from coming out of the valve cover openings at the top. Seems mine doesn't have a baffle. If it is supposed to have a baffle does anyone know where I could get one. Thanks for your help in advance.

agree with chuck that the 235 ci chevys engines didn't have baffles as part of the valve cover. My 54's valve cover needed wiped after 20 or so miles @ 3000 rpm runs on the interstate.I taped the 4 breqather orifaces on the top side of the cover with adhesive backed aluminum foil , that is used commonly in home ventilation systems.its ealsily removed for judging purposes. Its available at Lowes, home depot etc. Comes in a roll just like duct tape, Duct tape wont work too well as the adhesive in duct tape is oil soluble and the duct tape leaves the valve cover on long trips. good luck mikeComment
