    78 Washer Bottle/Pump

Need to remove windshield washer bottle to inspect for leaks and replace broken pump located on bottom. Looks like a job for Gumby! Does anybody that has done this have any tips on the best way to access this assembly.

You'll need a socket (believe 7/16" deep socket) on a long extension. Take the screen off from inside the bottle with the socket (going down the inside of the washer bottle.) The screen piece screws onto the washer pump. If you just need to replace the pump, you can without removing the bottle. If you need to replace the washer bottle, it's easier to take it out underneath the car. I can't remember if you need to remove the vapor cannister or not.

It's not that bad a job!

    Good luck!

    Greg.
