The judging manual says the horn numbers for the 55 vette are 759 and 760 respectively. Does anyone know where the horn numbers are located. I am unable to see any numbers on mine at all. Is it possible to be numberless?

Re: C 1 Horn numbers.
Don,
If you look on the trumpet half of the horn you will see raised text that say model and under that will be volts. Directly under this text you will see a little flat pad that will have the model # ie, 760, and 12V stamped into this pad. It would be highly unlikely that any horn was made without a model # or voltage stamped in the horn. That being said there is no difference in most of the GM horns of that era with the exception of the mounting brackets and the orientation in which the two halves are riveted together. On the early horns if memory serves me right the passenger car horns had a wire coming out of the round dome while corvettes had a terminal to hook the harness to. After 57, the horns lost the round dome and all GM horns shared a common rear section. There are horn restorers that can build you almost any horn you wish by combining the right parts together and stamping the correct #'s on the pad.

Re: C 1 Horn numbers.
Don,
The numbers are on the outer edge of the trumpet section and are almost impossible to see while mounted on the car, but a judge knows exactly how to hold a mirror to read them. Take them off the car and they should be very visible.
