69 carpet queston

I finally received the carpet for my 69 coupe today from Romeo Engineering and along with the carpet I ordered heat and sound deadener at the suggestion of the vendor. I'm now doubting that was ever installed under factory carpet. Was anything other than the jute backing used under the carpet originally? The AIM refers to "deadener mat" part #3919716 (F28 upc 1). Was this the jute backing?Any help would be much appreciated.

There was a jute mat covered with a tar paper like backing under the carpet. There was no jute glued to the carpet itself.

Thanks for the response. It just seemed to me that the thickness of this sound deadener would make it impossible to get a good fit and without seeing any reference to it in the AIM I had my doubts. Thanks again.
