Got checking my 67 L71 ignition coil today and found it has an original looking (embossed 207/12V) Delco coil. According to the spec guide it should be a "263" coil for the 67 K66 L71 ignition. Is it possible it was always the "207" coil and is it okay to run with this one or should I change it before damage is done? Thank you in advance.

Re: C2 - 1967 K66 Transistor ignition coil applica
I know first hand that LICS does use a one size fits all when it comes to A/C belts for a 1967 327/300hp. After purchasing 2 of the oversized belts they would not make good on a return. Quanta the Mfg. of these belts advised me that they were incorrect belt for my application. LICS claimed the belts that they suppiled me were OK for my car. Quanta took these belts back and supplied the correct ones. Kudo's to Quanta. LICS will never see dime one from me again.- Top

Glenn,
Your car came off the assembly line with a #263 coil. Unfortunately that coil and most other TI coils(except #207) were never made as service replacements, so they are all quite scarce today. To my knowledge #207 was the only service TI coil made. I believe your car will run with a #207 and it should not cause any damage to the ignition system. The question is will it perform as new with the #207.- Top
