    1965 Saddle Interior Paint

    1965 Interior Paint

I have just painted the dash and interior components on my 1965 with PPG Medium Saddle Metallic. The original color seemed to be of a darker shade of Saddle or Brown than the PPG lacquer that was applied. The PPG lacquer has a golden cast to it. PPG states that this is the only formula they have for the 65-saddle interior code #421. Does any one have paint codes for Du Pont or RM lacquers for code #421 interior?
    Thanks Ray

I do not have the codes but what I did when I restored my interior, which I identified 5 different combonations of gloss, color and metalic on my 63 was to mix dark saddle, medium saddle, clear and metal flake. It took weeks to get it right but it was the only way I could get it right. This was back in 1980. I just kept shooting different variations and compared the match to my original parts.

The original int. was made up of different shades .the vinyl did not match the fiberglass or plastic. The vinyl also was almost 2 tone with light & dark spots.
