Anyone have any recommendations for a sound deadener to be used on the doors of my 1963 convertible?

Re: Sound Deadener
Assume you are talking about the vapor barrier. Right after replacing my vapor barriers with the plastic sheet type I saw an add in the driveline for a new type vapor barrier that is supposed to also reduce noise (in a convertible?) and comes with a pre applied mastic strip.- Top

Re: Sound Deadener
I also purchased the vapor barrier you mentioned. I was referring to either a spray or sheet liner for the inside of the outer door panel. 3M makes a spray product similar to Body Shutz for rocker panels and Dynamat makes a sheet product. I used Dynamat under the carpeting along with a thermal barrier material and it works well in that area. Dynamat is rather expensive (about $90 for a kit to do both doors) and would be difficult to install in the section closest to the door hinges.- Top

Re: Sound Deadener
You could check out what type on sound insulation GM used on say a 96 Corvette door panel. The sound insulation on my 96 is much better that what is on my 85.
After I get my 85 judged I might try installing the improved sound insulation.- Top
